Apex court urged to extend ban on fire crackers

New Delhi : Petitioner, Arjun Gopal, today moved the Supreme Court seeking an extension of the ban imposed on sale of firecrackers beyond October 31 in the Delhi and NCR. The apex court on Fridy, however, did not fix any date for the hearing. Gopal in his plea sought a complete ban on the entire sale of firecrackers.


The apex court had earlier in its order had put a ban on sale of firecrackers in Delhi-NCR keeping in view the fact that the level of pollution is increasing and causing harm to the environment and the health of human beings. (UNI)
