New Delhi: People in Delhi woke up to a biting chilly morning on Thursday as the winter temperature fell to 2 degrees Celsius. The national Capital had experienced the coldest day of the season on New Year’s Day when the temperature had fallen to 1.1 degree Celsius.
Safdarjung observatory in the heart of South Delhi recorded today’s temperature of 2 degree Celsius, while Palam weather office reported 4.9 degree Celsius. The air quality in the city remained under “very poor” category and fog also caused slowdown of traffic in some parts of the city.
Delhi’s neighbouring States of Haryana and Punjab continued to be gripped by cold wave, with Narnaul in Haryana recording 1.8 degree Celsius, the coldest so far. (UNI)
