Hyderabad: ATM services of public Sector banks (PSBs), already facing a severe cash crunch, continued to be disrupted for the second day on Thursday in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states as bank employees continued their 48-hours nationwide strike call given by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), demanding pay revision.

Nearly 10 lakh bank employees of 21 PSBs are on two-day agitation across the country since
Wednesday against nominal wage revision.
The nation-wide strike crippled the functioning of at least 5,000 branches in Telangana and around 7,000 in Andhra Pradesh as 80,000 state-run bank employees of both the states called off work.

Apart from ATM services, transactions like cheque clearances, demand drafts, RTGS and remittance were affected although online banking offered some solace to the customers in both the states.

As usual, private banks were not the part of this strike.(UNI)
