Bengaluru: Bharatiya Janata Party today suffered a major shock when it's candidate B N Vijayakumar died of massive heart attack in the early hours of Friday.
He was 59. Mr Vijayakumar collapsed during campaign last night and was admitted to the super speciality hospital Jayadeva Institute of Cardiac Sciences and Research Centre, where he breathed last.
He was one of the prominent legislators for BJP and had represented Jayanagar constituency twice and was looking for a hat-trick in the May 12 Assembly Elections. he had joined the BJP in 1990.
He had been treated for heart problem recently.
Election to the constituency is likely to be countermanded as he belonged to a national Party. (UNI)
