Lucknow: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said that the BJP does not run any government on the basis of castes and families and not even for people close to them.
Speaking at the 'bhumi pujan' ceremony of the Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Sciences (UPSIFS) here, Mr Shah hit out at the opposition parties, saying those who are dreaming of forming the government in the state, should first hear the sound of 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' in their ears.
Lauding the works of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his efforts in controlling crime and criminals, he said, there is a fear of Yogi ji in the heart of the corrupt people, due to which the corruption has reduced.
"I remember the earlier times of the state where women were insecure, bullets were fired in broad daylight and there was a rule of the mafia. But today in 2021, I am standing in UP, I can proudly say that Yogi Adityanath ji did the work of taking the state forward," he said.
Emphasising the development of the country, Mr Shah reiterated, "we had said that governance would be for all, not for one caste."
Paying tribute to Bal Gangadhar Tilak on his death anniversary, he said the freedom fighter's slogan--freedom is my birthright-- shook the foundation of British rule.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in his brief welcome address claimed that before 2017, UP was considered a state of riots, occupied by the mafia. But the change that has happened in the state within 4 years is due to Union Home Minister's active role, which is not hidden from anyone.
He said UP Police is now seen working afresh, during which property worth Rs 1584 crores were seized from professional mafia and gangsters in the state.
Today there is an atmosphere of fear in the mafia, while women and citizens are safe, he claimed.
The UPSIFS will have different courses and research facilities. It will come up in 50 acres of area in Piparsand village in Sarojninagar tehsil in the state capital.
Earlier UP government had proposed to set up Police and Forensic Science University but after a suggestion from the Centre now it will be an Institute affiliated to National Forensic Science University (NFSU), Gandhinagar.
The Institute will also have a seat of centre of excellence and it will pave way for research in DNA testing in the state. (UNI)
