#BoycottHyundai trends after Hyundai Pakistan dealership tweets on ‘freedom for Kashmir’

New Delhi: Facing backlash on social media after Hyundai's Pakistan dealer sparked controversy with a post on Kashmir, Korean car major's India unit has said it has been committed to Indian market for 25 years and firmly stands for strong ethos of respecting nationalism.

"The unsolicited social media post linking Hyundai Motor India is offending our unparalleled commitment and service to this great country. India is second home to the Hyundai brand and we have zero tolerance policy towards insensitive communication and we strongly condemn any such view," Hyundai India said in a Twitter post.

It further said, "As part of our commitment to India we will continue our efforts towards the betterment of the country as well as its citizens."



On Saturday, HyundaiPakistanOfficial posted a tweet supporting 'Kashmir Solidarity Day.'

The post which has now been made inaccessible said, "Let us remember the sacrifices of our Kashmiri brothers and stand in support as they continue to struggle for freedom."

This triggered a social media outrage with users asking for boycott of Hyundai.

"Hyundai communication disaster is a good learning experience for corporate world to not support Pakistani terrorism. Bad for business. @HyundaiIndia needs to ask @Hyundai_Global to issue apology and take stringent action against @PakistanHyundai. Or people will #BoycottHyundai," wrote a Twitter user. 



BJP leader Kapil Mishra wrote: "Dear @HyundaiIndia  @Hyundai_Global  get this deleted and apologies for the same. This will have a very serious consequences for their business and brand in India."



Rtd Lt. Gen. KJS Dhillo wrote: "We have sacrificed Brave Soldiers and innocent unarmed Civilians … Their sacrifice is more precious to us Indians. Say NO to ?????. Be Indian Buy Indian #BoycottHyundai Jai Hind." (Inputs from UNI)
