BSF Jawan martyred and girl killed, 6 injured in Pak firing

Jammu: A BSF jawan attained martyrdom while another sustained injuries and a civilian girl died as Pakistan shelled forward posts and villages along international border in R S Pura and Arnia belts here.Pakistani Rangers started unprovoked heavy shelling on Wednesday night in R S Pura sector which continued till Thursday morning.

One BSF jawan attained martyrdom in R S Pura firing while a girl died in Arnia, said police sources.The deceased girl was identified as Sabity,14, daughter of Sat Pal, resident of Dayala Chak (Kathua).They said that the girl had been to her maternal uncle's house when got trapped in the firing at Village Pindi Charkan, sector Arnia.

However, BSF spokesman said that Head Constable A Suresh (GD no 95009834), son of M Ayyasmy, resident of village Bandra Chetti Patty, Thippireddinalli, Bommdi, Tehsil Harur, District Dharmapuri,Tamil Nadu got martyred in the firing while another namely Constable Dubraj Murmur (no 108770218), son of Bajnath Murmur, resident of Khudhahansa, district Mayur Bansh, Odisha suffered a bullet injury and hospitalised.

"Exchange of firing was still on whils own troops are giving befitting reply with similar calibre," said official sources.They said that six civilians also got injured in the firing and they have evacuated and shifted to the hospital. (UNI)
