BSF officer dies, 3 yatris still admitted to hospital in Srinagar

Srinagar: A BSF officer died while three pilgrims were admitted to hospital after they fell ill during the yatra to holy Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas.
The two-month-long pilgrimage commenced from June 28 from both Baltal and Nunwan Pahalgam sides.However, due to slippery road conditions following incessant rain, the yatra remained suspended and only 2,600 pilgrims had darshan during the first two days.
 
Official sources said  BSF Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Hardyal Singh and three pilgrims complained of chest pain and breathlessness during the yatra.
 
Singh of 182 batallion, posted for security duty on traditional Pahalgam track, complained of chest pain on June 28 night. He was rushed to local medical camps, from where he was referred to S K Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS). He was declared as brought dead at SKIMS.
 
Three yatris, identified as 50-year-old Anil Kumar Jasra, resident of Durgapani Ludhiana Punjab, Raja Ram (54), resident of Maharashtra and Sanju Kapoor (43), resident of Delhi, were admitted to SKIMS after they complained of  breathlessness during the yatra at different places.
