New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday ordered Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) to conduct an inquiry against CBI director Alok Verma and to file a report in two-weeks.
A three-judge bench issued notices to the Centre and CVC also.
The bench, headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi, included Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and K M Jospeh.Former SC judge A K Patnaik will oversee the CVC probe against Mr Verma, it added.Mr Verma moved the top court on Wednesday against the government's decision to divest him of his duties and send him on leave.(UNI)
