Chhattisgarh: 14 Maoists slain in encounter with security forces

Sukma:Fourteen Naxals were today shot dead in an encounter with security personnel between Konta and Gollapalli near Chhattisgarh's Sukma District, police said.Superintendent of Police Abhishek Meena said that security personnel were carrying out a search in the area when Maoists ambushed them. The ultras escaped from the scene after an hour-long gunfight. 
Police have recovered 14 bodies from the spot. Besides, four improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and 16 weapons were seized. Additional police force have been dispatched to the scene. Meanwhile, an encounter is reportedly continuing at another place in the same area where over 100 armed rebels are present. Police are making arrangements for bringing the bodies.(UNI)
