Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on the BJP over issue of wastage of Covid vaccines in the state and accused the main opposition party of the state of coming out of new tricks every day in desperation.
"Today they have said that we have wasted 37 percent vaccines...this figure is not only misleading but also a matter of laughing, " he wrote on his social media page.

Detailing further he said that so far out of 48 lakh vaccines which have been received as per Government of India data 40,12,269 vaccines have been given to the people of Jharkhand which can be easily checked from the data on Cowin app and certificate which is received from it. However just to bring a bad name to the state the Health Ministry has said that 37 percent vaccines have been wasted.

The Chief Minister said that 37 percent of 48 lakh vaccines amount to nearly 18 lakh vaccines and if that much has been wasted then how come 40,12,269 vaccines have been given.

He said that actual figures for wastage of vaccines in Jharkhand was 4.65 percent which was below the national average of 6.3 percent. He said that the government is working on a war footing to bring down the wastage to less than 2 percent.

Hemant Soren said that BJP has problems when the state government makes provision to give a dignified last rites to dead. He said that BJP also has problems when free vaccines are given to Jharkhandis, compensation is provided to farmers hit by hailstones, people serving the needy and Jharkhand winning the battle against Coronavirus.

The Chief Minister said BJP and its leaders have yet known the people of Jharkhand as more the obstacles will be created in the path of the government, the more opposition it meets the government will do double the hardwork and move ahead with double speed.(UNI)
