Cricketer to encounter specialist: Sachin Vaze’s journey

Kolhapur: Journey of Sachin Vaze, the controversial police officer started as a cricketer, born and brought up at Shivaji Peth area in Kolhapur city.

Mr Vaze, arrested on Sunday in the probe into recovery of explosives from a car near Industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s residence and remanded to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) custody till March 25.

Mr Waze was a good cricketer with practised on Shivaji University and Gymkhana grounds and played from Maratha Boarding cricket team as a wicketkeeper.

According to his close friends here, Sachin was a tacutum man and with a wave of to do something new in life. His parents and his brother Sudharm’s family was very inspiring.

His real journey started when he was appointed as an assistant police inspector at Gadchiroli in 1990.

Later, he came in Thane, however, he snapped relations with Kolhapur, even he did not attend the last rites of his mother too.

Seeing his journey, after the Ghatkopar bomb explosion incident, he got into hot water and after suspended in a fake encounter in 2008.

Later, he joined Shiv Sena in presence of Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray, but did not involve in active politics and started an import-export business.

As Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government came into power, Vaze joined his service, and appointed chief of Crime Intelligence Unit, Mumbai and then he involved in different investigations cases. He started the investigation again in the Anvay Naik suicide case and arrested Arnav Goswami in the TRP scam and disclosed the Deelip Chable case and now involved in the recovery of explosives from a car near Industrialist Mukesh Ambani.

In his 20 years journey, Mr Waze penned the Marathi book “Jinkun Harleli Ladhai” (Lost battle after it wins), based on the 26/11 attack.

Again he has suspended, Now time will say, whether he would escape or not in this case. (UNI)
