New Delhi: Issues related to expenditure ceiling, audit reports of parties, problems on electoral rolls and enhanced representation of women in party organisations will figure prominently in the daylong meeting on Monday between the Election Commission and political parties here.
According to official sources the poll panel has invited views on measures to encourage enhanced representation of women within the organisational structure of parties, as well as in candidate selection. All seven national parties and over 50 regional and state based parties have been invited for the deliberations.
Issues related to expenditure ceiling for legislative council elections could also be taken up.
Sources said a discussion is also planned on enforcement measures to ensure timely submission of annual audited reports, election expenditure reports.
The issue of simultaneous polls is not on agenda but could figure if raised by any party. (UNI)
