Just days after the shocking deaths of two newborn in a rat attack at Indore’s MY Hospital, another disturbing case has come to light—this time at the city’s airport.
On Tuesday, a male passenger waiting to board a flight from Indore to Bengaluru was bitten by a rat in the departure area of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport. The incident created panic among passengers present at the terminal.
Airport Director Vipinkant Seth confirmed the case, saying the passenger was “likely bitten by a rat” and was immediately given medical attention. A doctor on duty administered an injection and an antibiotic tablet as part of the first-aid treatment.
The incident comes on the heels of widespread outrage after two newborn girls died following a rat attack in the ICU of MY Hospital between August 31 and September 1. That tragedy sparked strong criticism of hospital administration and city authorities.
The repeated incidents have raised serious questions about sanitation and rodent control measures in public spaces across Indore.
