Jaipur: The Congress is already getting engaged in negative politics and the party leaders are thus instigating 'pro-BJP supporters' to opt for NOTA option knowing very well that traditional Hindutva voters will not vote for Congress, alleged a key BJP leader and Rajasthan unit spokesman Jitendra Shrimali.
''It is the height of negative politics. Knowing very well that our traditional supporters will never move towards Congress, the opposition party leaders are urging the voters? especially the upper caste ones to opt for NOTA,'' Mr Shrimali told UNI here.
He also maintained that this shows the Congress does not have the confidence of urging the electorate to vote for them. ''It shows only the bankruptcy,'' he said.Mr Shrimali said the BJP campaign and election strategy is going as per plans and the so called anti-incumbency wave will be a ''thing of past in next one month or so''.
''We are highlighting the developmental works and telling the voters and also others how our programmes have changed the lives of the people. The 'Labh-arthi (beneficiaries) Sammelan' for all major schemes are being organised with that concept,'' he said.
The state BJP spokesman said unlike the double standards and caste politics of divide and rule pursued by the Congress, the BJP campaign is focused on theme of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas'.
''Actually, our plank has given a fresh confidence to the people of the state as both the Vasundhara Raje administration in Jaipur and the Modi government in the Centre are focused on development,'' he said.
Dismissing suggestions that there is 'joblessness and Rozgar mukt India' under BJP, he said on the contrary the emphasis given for StartUp India and Skill India have actually changed the concept of 'seeking jobs'.
''There is a stress on self-reliance of the educated youth and this is an idea of the future with a long term perspective. It may not be understood at all levels. But in states like Rajasthan, the entrepreneurship has got a new meaning. Rest of what you see in media is part of Congress propaganda and their negativity,'' he said.
Answering questions, he said the BJP has tried to be sensitive to the sentiments of caste factors and thus key leaders from each major community like Jats and Scheduled Castes have been given their respective assignment.
In this context, Mr Shrimali pointed out at the recent decision wherein BJP in coordination with RSS leaders have divided the state of Rajasthan into three parts ? Jaipur, Jodhpur and Chittorgarh for drawing out electoral strategy.
Under this, he explained key Jat leader Satish Puniya has been given the task of interacting with his community people and enlisting their views on various issues including the candidates in Jodhpur region ? where Jats can play decisive role.
To a question, he said, ''The support of Jats will be critical for BJP's victory yet again as in 2013 along with the support of influential groups Brahmins and Baniyas.''Meanwhile, BJP sources also explained that the Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghawal, an SC leader himself, has been asked to coordinate with senior leader Avinash Rai Khanna to woo Dalits and other social groups in assembly segments in and around Jaipur.(UNI)
