Lucknow: In a jolt to the opposition alliance in the coming assembly elections in the country, Ms Mayawati led Bahujan Samaj Party(BSP) has announced to go alone in the Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan assembly polls slated to be held later this year.
" We will have no truck with Congress in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan assembly polls and the party will contest all the seats in both the states," Ms Mayawati announced here on Wednesday.
In a statement here Ms Mayawati claimed that BSP has the power to change the political tide of the country and Congress was just trying to hold the party to ransom by offering a few seats in alliance.
BSP has already forged a pre-poll alliance in Chhattisgarh with Janata Congress(Chattisgarh) led by former tribal Chief minister Ajit Jogi last month. The statement of the BSP president came just after senior Congress leader and former MP Chief minister Digvijay Singh alleged that Mayawati was under pressure from the BJP hence she was not ready to go in alliance with the Congress.
" I can only say that Digvifjay Singh is a BJP agent and was trying all his effort to prevent the BSP- Congress alliance even as Sonia Ganhdi and Rahul Gandhi wants ," she alleged.(UNI)
