New Delhi: The Election Commission on Thursday allotted the two leaves poll symbol to the unified AIADMK.In its order, the Commission said, 'This order is passed in the matter of an internal dispute in the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), a state recognised political party in the state of Tamil Nadu and Union Territory of Puducherry.
The AIADMK party has been allotted the symbol 'Two Leaves' as its reserved symbol in the said state and union territory under the provisions of the Election Symbols (Reservation and Allotment) Order, 1968 (hereinafter, 'Symbols Order'),' the order said.The Commission had frozen the symbol on March 22 and the decision came after the poll panel heard the O Panneerselvam and V K Sasikala factions, who staked their respective claims on the party symbol.
