Bengaluru: A protest, organised at Freedom Park against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act and the National Register of Citizens here, ended on a controversial note on Thursday, as a student activist was arrested, for raising pro-Pakistan slogans.
The student activist, later identified as Amulya, an uninvited guest, took the Mike and shouted the slogan 'Pakistan Zindabad' thrice, putting the organisers and AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owasi, in a spot.

The Lok Sabha MP, who had come to support the anti-CAA protest, said ''Neither me, nor the organisers (Hindu Muslim Sikh Isaai Federation) here, agree with this. We do not stand by what she has said.

''I do not know why the organisers have entertained someone like her. Our fight is completely directed at saving the Country," the AIMIM chief  clarified. He also said that he would not participate in a protest, if such sentiments were voiced. "We never want to associate with people like her," he added.

BBMP Corporator Imran Pasha also seconded Mr Owaisi and said that they do not stand by Amulya's views. "We did not even invite this girl to participate in the event. She came here uninvited. We will ask the police to take action against her. This is a planted idea to ruin today's event," he alleged.According to police sources, the girl was being questioned, after filing a case under Section 124A.(UNI)
