New Delhi: The Modi government has embraced a new "religion" -- looting the salaried middle class, the Congress said on Wednesday.
Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala slammed the Central government for again hiking the price of petrol and diesel and said it has become a "religion" of the ruling dispensation to loot people every day.
"Loot people plan continues. Petrol, diesel prices hiked by 80 paisa, Rs 1.60 per litre in two days. Looting middle class-salaried is their divine right," Surjewala tweeted. "It has become a 'religion' of the government to middle class and salaried every day."
Petrol and diesel prices were hiked by 80 paise per litre for a second straight day on Wednesday. In Delhi, petrol now costs Rs 97.01 per litre and diesel Rs 88.27. (UNI)
