New Delhi: India Meteorological Department predicted a fresh spell of heatwave from Friday, as the maximum temperature is likely to settle around 44 degrees Celsius, officials informed on Thursday.
"The maximum temperature is expected to rise by another one to three degrees, with heatwave conditions likely to hit Delhi from Friday onwards, the IMD said.
On Thursday, the maximum temperature in the city is likely to hover around 43 degree Celsius, with a clear sky.
The minimum temperature in the morning (05:30am) settled around, 29.5 degree Celsius four notches above normal. The relative humidity at 8:30 AM on Thursday stood at 61 per cent, according to data shared by the India Meteorological Department.
Earlier, the weather agency forecast heatwave in Northwest and Central India over the next five days.
"Heat Wave conditions are isolated/at a few places very likely over East Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh during 11th to 15th May 2022", IMD tweeted. (UNI)
