New Delhi: An IAF Sergeant has been arrested here for passing on sensitive information to his handler after being honey-trapped on social media, sources said on Thursday.

The sergeant, who is currently being jointly interrogated by the officials of Military Intelligence and Delhi Police, was being asked about the movement of radars and posting of IAF officials by his handlers.

According to sources, the sergeant allegedly received money in the bank account of his wife. He had allegedly leaked the sensitive information about defence installations and Air Force personnel through the electronic means to the agent of an adversary country after deceitfully obtaining the said information from the computers and other files.

He is suspected of leaking such sensitive information for the past six months and a case under The Official Secrets Act has been registered against him.

Sources said that the jawan was providing information to an individual who was using an Indian simcard and the simcard has since been deactivated.

Officials have also seized incriminating evidences such as electronic gadgets and documents from the Sergeant. (UNI)
