Hyderabad: In a tragic incident in Bandlaguda, Hyderabad, two youths lost their lives due to electrocution while carrying a Ganesha idol in the early hours of Tuesday.
According to police, the mishap occurred when a high-tension wire came into contact with the tractor transporting the idol from Lakshmi Nagar to Puranapul.
The victims, identified as Doni (21) and Vikas (20), died on the spot. One other person, who sustained serious injuries, was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The incident comes close on the heels of the recent Sri Krishnashtami celebrations in Ramanthapur, where five people were killed and two injured in a similar electrocution tragedy.
A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway, police said.
