In a chilling turn of events in Shillong, police recovered the body of Raja, who had gone missing along with his wife Sonam. The body was found on the 11th day of the search, deepening the mystery surrounding the couple’s disappearance.

Suspected Murder: Dispute, Robbery Under Investigation

According to initial findings, police suspect robbery or a sudden dispute as the possible motive. The area where Raja’s body was found is near a ditch below a parking spot, which is now central to the investigation. Authorities believe a confrontation may have occurred there, followed by Raja being thrown into the ditch.

The suspicion arose after it was revealed that the couple had coffee and bananas before entering the area. According to family, Sonam disliked the coffee, which allegedly led to an argument between Raja and the shopkeeper. The police are now questioning the shopkeeper as part of their investigation.

Clues Found Near the Body

The police also recovered a ladies’ white T-shirt and a medicine strip near the Raja's body. These items are being examined to determine if they belong to Sonam or were discarded by someone else.

Sonam Still Missing

The search for Sonam has been intensified, with drones deployed to scan the ditch area and surrounding terrain. Despite extensive efforts, no trace of her has been found yet.

Murder Case Likely

Raja and Sonam’s family had feared foul play since the couple went missing. The police are reportedly preparing to register a murder case, though no FIR has been signed by the family as of now. Investigators believe that finding Sonam could be the key to unlocking the truth behind this disturbing case.
