Hindu Mahasabha leader Kamlesh Tiwari stabbed to death in Lucknow

Lucknow: Founder of the Hindu Samaj Party, Kamlesh Tiwari, was  stabbed to death by unknown assailants at his residence here on Friday.Tiwari, former state president of the All India Hindu Mahasabha, was stabbed inside his residence at Khurshidbagh. He was rushed to the Trauma centre in a critical condition but succumbed.(pic- twitter)
Senior police officials, including SSP Kalanidhi  Naithani, have rushed to the crime spot.
Sources said Tiwari was guarded by two police gunner, round the clock after he received threat from some unknown last year.
 
According to the eye-witness, the assailants came with sweet boxes and the moment Tiwari approached them, he was attacked by the knife hidden inside the sweet box.Police has recovered a country-made pistol from the assailants.Tiwari, who had made communal statements several times, was jailed for a year under National Security Act in 2015.

After staying in jail for a year, NSA act was revoked against him by the Allahabad High Court. Tiwari had contested the 2019  Lok Sabha elections from Faizabad as an Independent candidate.(UNI)
