Mysuru:  Former Prime Minister and Janata Dal National President H D Devegowada on Sunday expressed confidence of coming to power in Karnataka even if the party fails to get majority in the May 12 election to Karnataka Legislative Assembly.
Addressing a press conference here, he said he does not believe in election pre-poll  surveys which have predicted that the JDS would not get more then 40 seats. "We will take support of Independent MLAs to form the government if the party fails to get majority," he added.
Referring to 7 suspended MLAs joining Congress and contesting in the election. Mr Devegowda alleged that " they back stabbed and the people would teach them a befitting lesson."

He said that he will not campaign for his party candidate G T Devegowda who is contesting against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the chamundeshwari constitutency as he would manage himself. (UNI)
