New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday released its second list of 82 candidates for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly elections to be held on May 12.The first list of 72 candidates was released on April 8.
The list, approved by the Central election committee of the BJP and released by Secretary, CEC J P Nadda ,included prominent names like Chandrakant B Patil from Gulbarga Uttar, Suryakantha Nagamarapalli from Bidar, Venkata Reddy Mudgal from Yadgir, Sunil Naik from Bhatkal, Sanna Fakirappa from Bellary (ST), G Somashekhara Reddy from Bellary City, Ashok Naik from Shimoga Rural (SC) and G B Jyothi Ganesh from Tumkur City.
Others in the list include Dr Manjunath from Chikkaballapur, B P Venkatamuniyappa from Babarapet (SC), Om Shaktichalapathi from Kolar, H Ravindra from Vijay Nagar, Sanjeev Mattandoor from Puttur and H S Niranjankumar from Gundlupet.The first list had included names of B S Yeddyurappa from Shikaripura, M Krishnappa from Bangalore South, S Surehkkumar from Rajaji Nagar, Shivaraj Patil from Raichur, , K S Eswarappa from Shimoga, Bsavanagouda patil Yetnal from Bijapur city and Sanjay Patil from Belgaum Rural among others.Karnataka will go to polls on May 12 to elect its representatives for the 225-member assembly.
The results will be out on May 15. There are 224 members of the Vidhan Sabha or the Legislative Assembly of Karnataka state. One member is a representative of the Anglo-Indian community nominated by the Governor of Karnataka.(UNI)
