Karnataka minister Laxmi Hebbalkar injured in road accident, her car rams into tree while avoiding stray dog

Belagavi: Karnataka Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar and her brother, MLC Channaraj Hattiholi, sustained injuries in a car accident early Tuesday morning in Channamma Kittur taluk on the Pune-Bengaluru national highway.

The accident occurred around 6 am when the driver of the vehicle reportedly swerved to avoid a stray dog, causing the car to ram into a tree.

Minister Hebbalkar suffered injuries to her face and back, while her brother sustained head injuries.

Speaking to reporters, Mrunal Hebbalkar, the Minister's son, confirmed the sequence of events, attributing the crash to the sudden appearance of the stray animal.

The accident site, located in Channamma Kittur taluk, has drawn attention to the safety concerns on national highways.
