Kedarnath: The Kedarnath temple, the fifth Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva and located in Uttarakhand, opened on Friday morning -- and will remain open for pilgrims for six months.

The first prayers were done in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the presence of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.

Around 4 am chants of "Baba Kedar" started in the temple premises. The chief priest offered 'bhog' to the festive doli of Baba Kedar with Vedic chanting and rituals.

The doors of the temple were opened in the presence of Kedarnath's Rawal Bhimashankar Linga and the 'doli' entered into the temple.

Along with the tunes of the army band, the entire Kedarnath reverberated with cheers of Bhole Baba. (UNI)
