Mah CM announces Rs 5 lakh to next of kin of deceased in Mumbai stampede

Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today expressed grief over the stampede at Elphinstone railway station here and announced Rs 5 lakh to the next of kin of those killed in the incident.
 

The Chief Minister tweeted from Singapore that all the medical expenses of the injured will be borne by the state government, he added. In a tweet, he said, 'Inquiry will be conducted by government of Maharashtra and Ministry of Railways and strict action will be taken.' Railway Minister Piyush Goyal cancelled his scheduled programmes and rushed to the KEM hospital, where the injured are undergoing treatment and expressed grief over the stampede. He said he is heartbroken over the unfortunate incident in "his Mumbai". (UNI)
