Maha Kumbh 2025: President Droupadi Murmu takes holy dip at Sangam (VIDEO)

Prayagraj: President Droupadi Murmu on Monday took a holy dip at the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and invisible Saraswati on the occasion of Maha Kumbh and prayed for the happiness and prosperity of the nation.

Before taking a dip in the Sangam, the President along with Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, fed the Siberian birds chirping on the jetty. After that, she descended into the Sangam and offered water to the Sun and applied holy water to her forehead. After that, she offered flowers and coconut to Mother Ganga.

She comes from a tribal background. Such things convey a positive message and counter the propaganda of those trying to separate tribals and Dalits from Hinduism.

After the bath, the Teertha priests made the President worship on the jetty itself amidst Vedic chanting.

Along with the President, the Governor also took a holy bath at the Sangam. She also offered flowers at the Sangam. After the Sangam bath, the President also has a programme to visit Akshay Vat and Bade Hanuman Temple.
