Phagwara,:Senior BJP leader and in-charge of party's Punjab unit Mahinder Paul Singh Goraya on Tuesday quit the saffron party and rejoined the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).
Mr Goraya rejoined the BSP in presence of state party leaders Parveen Banga, Ch Mohan Lal and Harmesh Kaul.The leader said that he was leaving BJP as he felt 'suffocated'. In 2002, Mr Goraya had contested Assembly elections from Noormahal on BSP ticket against Congress candidate Gurwinder Singh Atwal.
In 2007, he had fought from Nakodar Assembly constituency on BSP ticket against Congress candidate Amarjit Singh Samra. In 2012, Mr Goraya had left BSP and joined BJP. (UNI)
