Man arrested for abusing PM Modi in Darbhanga

Darbhanga (Bihar): A person identified as Rizvi alias Raja was arrested today for allegedly abusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the dais of Voter Adhikar Yatra in Darbhanga on Wednesday.

On the basis of a complaint lodged at Kotwali police station in Darbhanga, raids were conducted and Rizvi was arrested for his remark. A delegation of BJP leaders had lodged the complaint with Kotwali police station in Darbhanga, after a related video went viral, police added.

Mohammad Naushad, the organiser of the public meeting at Atarbel, issued an apology.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and other leaders had already left for Muzaffarpur when the incident took place.

"Rizvi is being interrogated", police said, adding that raids were being carried out to nab others on the basis of video footage.
