Imphal: Manipur government has stopped internet services at Churachandpur following the burning of a gym to be inaugurated by C M N Biren on Friday. The gym was burnt by unknown miscreants on Thursday night. The mob also vandalised the public meeting venue at Sadhbhav Mandap. Various organisations have called for a shutdown during the visit of the CM. The district administration has also imposed prohibitory orders in the district. The decision of the government to protect reserved forest areas was anti-tribal, the organisations said. The Manipur government has cracked down against the planting of poppy plants in forest areas.
