Mohali: After securing a 13-run victory over Mumbai Indians at Wankhede, Punjab Kings will look to continue the winning momentum against Lucknow Super Giants at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium here on Friday.

Punjab go into the game brimming with confidence, having defeated Lucknow in their previous meeting in the ongoing IPL edition.

Sikandar Raza 57 off 41 and Shahrukh Khan’s 10-ball 23* helped Punjab beat Lucknow by two wickets in a nail-biting encounter at their home ground. It also saw Sam Curran making captaincy debut for Punjab.

Talking about the head-to-head record against Lucknow LSG in IPL, Punjab have faced each other on two occasions, winning one game apiece. The hosts will look to complete the double tomorrow.

Curran, scored a match-winning knock of 55 off 29 against Mumbai. The 24-year-old played counter-attacking cricket as he smashed five fours and four sixes in his scintillating knock.

Apart from contributing with the bat, Curran has also showcased his bowling skills, and has bagged five wickets so far at an economy of 8.85.

Curran is just 21 runs away from completing 500 runs in the high-profile T20 league.

Punjab's pace bowling sensation, Arshdeep Singh, has been one of the standout bowlers in IPL. The left-arm pacer has picked up 13 wickets in seven matches at an average of 15.69, and an economy of 8.16. He will look to continue his sensational form against Lucknow at the fortress.

The fierce battle between KL Rahul and Arshdeep could play a decisive role in the match.

Punjab's bowling spearhead bagged the wicket of KL in the previous encounter against Lucknow. KL has often struggled against left-arm pace.

Considering the Lucknow skipper usually takes time to settle in, Arshdeep will try to make use of the Mohali pitch to provide Punjab with an early advantage. (UNI)
