Mehbooba hopes 35-A will stay!

Srinagar, Aug 15 (UNI) Expressing confidence that the Supreme Court (SC) will reject the plea challenging the validity of Article 35-A, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today asserted that all the political parties in the Valley were united on safeguarding the special status guaranteed under Indian Constitution to Jammu and Kashmir.
 
Without naming any political party, the Chief Minister criticised the ‘elements in India’ who have approached the SC, challenging Article 35-A, which gave special privileges to the residents of Jammu and Kashmir.
 
“Many people say that Jammu and Kashmir is the crown of this country. There is no doubt that J&K is the crown of this country and it should remain the crown. 
 
Without naming Hurriyat and other separatist leaders, she said that there were many in this state who say, that we should go back to pre-1947 era.
