Militant hideout busted; arms and ammunition recovered in Kashmir

Srinagar: Security forces busted a militant hideout and recovered arms and ammunition in north Kashmir district of Bandipora on Monday, official sources said.They said a militant identified as Rayees Ahmad was arrested recently by Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police in south Kashmir district.

During the questioning of Rayees, he informed about the hideout in the house of one Abdul Rehman Parray at village Chandergeer, Hajin, Bandipora where six militants of Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) and an Indian Air Force (IAF) Commando were killed in an encounter early this month. Sources said security forces conducted search operation in the area and busted a hideout. Large cache of arms and ammunition were recovered from the hideout in the cowshed of Parray.(UNI)
