MP shocker: 22-yr-old man caught raping his 70-yr-old mother's corpse on street in Indore

A man was allegedly caught raping the corpse of his 70-year-old mother on a street in Madhya Pradesh's Indore, police said.

A case has been registered against the 22-year-old man under section 297 (offers any indignity to any human corpse) of the Indian Penal Code, but no arrest has been made so far, an official said.

The accused allegedly had sex with his mother’s corpse on the street in the Badi Gwaltoli area on the intervening night of December 1 and 2, police said.

Two students living in a hostel in the locality had captured the incident on their mobile phone and informed the police about the incident.

On getting information about the incident, the Palasia police met the accused and found that he was mentally unwell.

The man took her 70-year-old woman, suffering from a lung disorder, to the Government Maharaja Yeshwantrao Hospital with breathing difficulties for check-up, the official said.

While returning back to the home, when his mother died, he raped her corpse on the street, police said, adding post-mortem has also confirmed the rape.

The man is sent for medical examination and has not been arrested, police added. (Inputs from agencies and local media)
