Kottayam: Another nun levelled allegations of sexual abuse against former Bishop of Jalandhar Franco Mulakkal, who is accused of sexually assaulting a nun between 2014 and 2016 and is currently out on bail.
The allegations were raised by a nun who is the 14th witness in the ongoing rape case against the bishop, police sources said on Saturday.
The nun stated that Franco tried to grab hold of her on April 30, 2017, at a convent in Kannur. The bishop also forced her into sexual chat during 2015-2017 period.The nun has not filed the complaint as she is afraid of the bishop and expulsion from the church.
The Save Our Sisters Forum, which has been in the forefront of a protest against the bishop, has demanded a fresh probe into the allegations.Franco who was arrested on September 21, 2018 on rape charges, got out on bail on October 16, 2018. (UNI)
