NIA registers case in RSS member murder at Ludhiana

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) registered a case in the murder of a worker of Rastriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) here. On October 20, two unidentified people killed Ravinder Gosain, Chief of Raghunathnagar Shakha of RSS in Ludhiana, while he was sitting outside his house at Gagandeep colony, Ludhiana in the broad day light.

The Punjab Government had requested the Union Home Ministry to get case investigated by the NIA as the Punjab Police was unable to nab the assailants.An NIA team led by the Inspector General, has reached Ludhiana to take over the investigation. 

In compliance of the Home Ministry’s order dated the November 16, NIA has re-registered case FIR under sections 10, 12, and 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, sections 302 & 34 of the Indian Penal Code and section 25 of the Arms Act, 1925, at PS Jodhewal, Ludhiana, Punjab.(UNI)
