Patna: A sea of humanity along with political heavyweights like Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan descended at sprawling Veterinary College Ground to witness the marriage function of RJD Chief Lalu Prasad`s eldest son Tej Pratap Yadav here today.
The most significant moment of the function reached when Chief Minister Mr Kumar reached the venue as Mr Prasad greeted him warmly holding his hands for some moments leaving behind their political rivalries on the solemn occasion.
Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan, who was also present on the occasion, was also heartily welcomed by Mr Prasad and his wife and former chief minister Rabri Devi.Mr Prasad`s youngest son Tejaswi Yadav, also Leader of Opposition in state Assembly acted like a perfect host spending some moments by sitting with chief minister Mr Kumar in a jovial mood.
Tej Pratap and bride Aishwarya Rai, daughter of former Minister and senior RJD leader Chandrika Rai, garlanded each other amid chanting of Vedic mantras and thunderous applause from prominent leaders and thousands of RJD supporters and guests. According to an estimate, around 25,000 people witnessed the function, which passed off gracefully.
After the 'Jailmal' function, governor Satyal Pal Malik, chief minister Mr Kumar, Mr Paswan and other prominent leaders blessed bridegroom and bride as they also bowed their heads in respect.Earlier, the marriage procession started from 10, Circular Road, the official residence of Rabri Devi and reached Patna Veterinary College, moving at a snail`s pace.
