Plea filed in SC against police inaction in JNU violence

New Delhi: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) violence issue reached the Supreme Court, as a Human Rights activist and political analyst, Tehseen Poonawala, filed a contempt plea against Delhi Police for "willfully disobeying" SC directions in its judgment of July 17, 2018.
The Apex Court had passed a judgement on July 17, 2018, in connection with Tehseen Poonawala, against Central government pertaining to take  preventive, remedial measures to deal with mob violence.
 
Poonawala pleaded to the Apex Court that the initiation of contempt proceedings should be made by the SC against those concerned police officials for allegedly "willfully disobeying" SC directions in its judgment of July 17, 2018.(UNI)
