New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday extended heartfelt congratulations to four eminent personalities who have been nominated to the Rajya Sabha by the President Droupadi Murmu, hailing their respective contributions to the nation in law, diplomacy, education, and social service.

In a series of posts shared on the social media platform X, the Prime Minister expressed admiration for their exemplary careers and wished them success in their forthcoming parliamentary roles.

Recognising Ujjwal Nikam’s unwavering commitment to constitutional values, Modi described him as a "successful lawyer who played a key role in important legal cases" and praised his efforts in upholding the dignity of common citizens.

"Ujjwal Nikam’s devotion to the legal field and to our Constitution is exemplary... It’s gladdening that the President of India has nominated him to the Rajya Sabha. My best wishes for his Parliamentary innings,” the Prime Minister stated.

Hailing the nomination of C. Sadanandan Master, the Prime Minister called his life “an epitome of courage and refusal to bow to injustice.” Despite facing threats and violence, Sadanandan Master remained undeterred in his mission of national development and youth empowerment, wrote the PM.

“His efforts as a teacher and social worker are commendable... Congratulations to him for being nominated to the Rajya Sabha by Rashtrapati Ji,” Modi posted.

Former Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla was also nominated to the Rajya Sabha. Applauding his service, the Prime Minister noted his role as a "diplomat, intellectual and strategic thinker" and his key contributions to India’s foreign policy and the recent G20 Presidency.

“His unique perspectives will greatly enrich Parliamentary proceedings,” Modi remarked.

On the nomination of scholar and historian Meenakshi Jain, the PM called it a moment of "immense joy". Modi acknowledged her work in education, literature, history and political science.

“Her work has enriched academic discourse significantly. Best wishes for her Parliamentary tenure,” the Prime Minister wrote.
