Bengaluru: Political analyst Tehseen Poonawalla has filed a complaint against Madhya Pradesh BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur for the alleged "hate speech" she delivered at Shivamogga with Superintendent of Police GK Mithun Kumar.

He has also requested Shivamogga police to register an FIR under sections 153-A, 153-B, 268, 295-A, 298, 504, 508 of the IPC.

"I had a phone conversation right now with Shri GK Mithun Kumar @Shivamogga_SP who has assured me that he will be taking action against MP #PragyaThakur ji after verification of my complaint. I have told him my complaint is sent to his official http://gov.in ID," he said in a tweet.

On December 25, Pragya Thakur made statements asking Hindus to keep weapons and sharpen their vegetable-cutting knives in self-defence to give fitting reply in the language of love jihad.

"Giving fitting reply to those who do love jihad in their language. Keep your girls safe. Educate your girls.

Keep weapons in your house. If nothing else, keep the knife for cutting vegetables sharp. I am saying this clearly," she said.
"They have killed our hero Harsha. They have killed our Hindu heroes, Bajrang Dal workers, BJP workers, Yuva Morcha workers! So, let us also keep the knives for cutting vegetables sharp, we never know when the opportunity will come. So, when our vegetables are cut well, then surely the enemies' faces and heads will also cut well," Pragya Thakur added.

Poonawalla called up Shivamogga SP on phone and alleged that Pragya Thakur is a habitual offender and has incited violence and is in violation of her bail conditions in a terror case on medical grounds.

He submitted that the deliverance of the said speech by Pragya Thakur has the potential for cancellation of her bail. At present she is released on bail in the infamous Malegaon blasts case wherein she is one of the main accused persons.

Poonwalla said the speech is in teeth of Articles 14, 19, 21 and 25 inter alia and asked the police to take proactive steps in accordance with the directions contained in the SC Judgment dated 17 July 2018 in "Tehseen Poonawalla versus Union of India and Ors" case.

He said Pragya Thakur's speech is an open call for use of arms leading to mob violence against minority community and has potential effect of intolerance, hatred, violence inter-alia against a particular community, which fairly and squarely constitutes an offence under various provisions of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.

He also said Pragya Thakur has a history of delivering such profane speeches thus making her a habitual offender. She had also lauded Nathuram Godse which was strongly condemned by none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.(UNI)
