Police sources said that after the bail petition was rejected by the High Court, the Congress MP was holding a press conference at his residence when the police arrested him.

It may be noted that two weeks ago a victim woman in her complaint had accused the Congress MP of sexually exploiting her for the last several years by luring her with the promise of marriage. "The victim had provided police the call recording of the conversation between her and the MP in this case," sources said.

Police sources said that the victim had alleged that she was also being threatened. "A case was registered in the Kotwali Nagar police station in this regard," they said.
