A fresh video allegedly featuring Red Fort blast suspect Dr. Umar Nabi has emerged online, nearly a week after the November 10 explosion that claimed 15 lives.
In the self-shot recording, the accused is seen defending the attack, referring to suicide bombing as a “misunderstood concept” and describing it as a “martyrdom operation” in Islam.
According to officials, the video—believed to have been recorded before the November 10 blast—was recovered from the mobile phone of another arrested accused, Bilal, who was detained in Jammu and Kashmir along with other suspects. Investigators say the clip appears to have been shared among the group prior to the attack. It has now been sent for forensic analysis.
In the footage, Umar Nabi is heard trying to justify suicide attacks, claiming they are “misinterpreted” and should be seen as acts of martyrdom. He also remarks that there are “arguments and contradictions” surrounding the idea while attempting to define it from his perspective.
The accused is further heard saying statements such as, “The time of death is fixed,” among other radical assertions.
Investigating agencies are currently examining the contents of the video as part of the ongoing probe into the Red Fort blast, which has so far resulted in 15 fatalities and several injuries.
The video indicates that the Delhi car blast was planned with great precision. This terror attack has posed a serious challenge for security agencies in India.
