Patna: Former deputy chief minister Tejaswi Yadav today asserted that the countdown of Nitish Kumar government had begun with senior JD (U) leader Sharad Yadav joining camp of anti-BJP parties.

Addressing ‘Remove BJP, Save Country’ (BJP Bhagao, Desh Bachao’ rally at the historic Gandhi Maidan here, Mr Yadav said the countdown of the Nitish Kumar government began today with the participation of leader of ‘real’ JD (U) Sharad Yadav in the rally. “The countdown of my dear uncle has begun,” he remarked making a claim that the JD (U) was heading towards a split as Mr Yadav attended the rally ignoring JD(U) top leadership’s warning.

The JD (U) leadership had earlier warned Mr Yadav that his party membership would be considered cancelled automatically if he joined the rally. Launching a blistering attack on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Mr Yadav accused Mr Kumar of insulting people's mandate and asserted that he was occupying the chair of Chief Minister due to overwhelming support extended to him by RJD supporers in the last assembly election.
