New Delhi: The Supreme Court today said the National Investigation Agency (NIA) would probe the love jihad case under the supervision of apex court's retired judge Justice R V Raveendran. A division bench of the court, headed by Chief Justice Jagdish Singh Khehar and also comprising Justice D. Y. Chandrachud, said this after hearing from the girl's and other side.

It had earlier issued notice to the NIA and the Kerala government after hearing a plea filed by a Kerala based lady's alleged husband seeking her custody in the case. The court also said that the woman's version must be taken into consideration in the matter. The court had on August 4 issued notice to NIA and Kerala government on the alleged love jihad case and sought a response from them. (UNI)
