Mohali: Senior journalist K J Singh and his mother were found dead on Saturday in their Phase 3B2 residence here. On a directive from Chief Minister (Capt) retd Amarinder Singh, the Punjab police set up a Special Investigative Team (SIT) under THE Inspector General (Crime) to probe the case, UNI reported from Chandigarh. The Chief Minister called up DGP Suresh Arora to set up an SIT for a thorough inquiry into the case. The IG (Crime), under whom the SIT will function, has been asked to ensure that all leads are probed and the culprits nabbed at the earliest.
Reaffirming his commitment to secure law and order in Punjab at all costs, Capt Singh directed the police to step up security in the area and safeguard the safety and security of the citizens of the state. KJ Singh, a former News Editor with the Indian Express, The Tribune and The Times of India in Chandigarh, was found with his throat slit, while his mother was suspected to have been strangulated.
