Patna: Maintaining his aggressive posture against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for breaking grand alliance to join hands with BJP, former JD (U) president and party MP Sharad Yadav today said that he was still with the alliance as he could not approve insult to people`s mandate given in the 2015 state Assembly election. Before commencing his three day visit to the state, Mr Yadav told newspersons at Jai Prakash Naraian International Airport here that grand alliance was pitted against NDA in the last state Assembly election and they fought the election on their respective manifestos.

He said that strangely one of the parties of an alliance took an U turn later, a development which he had never seen in his political career. Maintaining that grand alliance still existed even after the exit of JD (U) from it, Mr Yadav said the people had given their mandate to the grand alliance in the last Assembly election as 11 crore people had exercised their franchise in favour of the alliance with great hope.

He said the people`s mandate was insulted due to break-up of grand alliance. Mr Yadav said that he had spent 40 years in active politics and he had himself campaigned for the grand alliance for one and half month in the last state Assembly election. (UNI)
