New Delhi: Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday met party leader DK Shivakumar, who is currently lodged in Tihar jail under judicial custody, in connection with a money laundering case.
Ms Gandhi and her party colleague Ambika Soni went to Delhi's Tihar Jail this morning to meet with party leader from Karnataka, DK Shivakumar, who is in jail over allegations of money laundering.
The Delhi High Court will give its verdict on Shivakumar's bail plea on Wednesday. He was arrested by Enforcement Directorate in September.Shivakumar's brother DK Suresh was also present during the meeting of the Congress leaders.
The 57-year-old Congress leader had allegedly not been paying taxes and made transactions worth crores of rupees.Shivakumar's 23-year-old daughter, Aisshwarya, was also questioned by the Enforcement Directorate, days after he was arrested. (UNI)
